Of course, the sister duo also picked up some style tips from their mentor. “She has always inspired us to remain comfortable, wear what you want and be free,” Chloe added.

Zendaya Explains How She Miraculously Walked Across Subway Grate In Stilettos

$

Over the weekend, one of Zendaya’s fans took to Twitter to figure out how the star seemed to walk across a city subway grate in stilettos with no problem.

The Twitter user @misfitmaree tweeted photos showing Zendaya wearing patent leather pumps that appear to have a roughly 5-inch heel. Somehow, the heels didn’t slip into the grate, and Zendaya kept up her effortless appearance.

Zendaya herself decided to respond to @misfitmaree’s question of how she seemed to manage this.

“Magic,” Zendaya tweeted.

Well it turns out Zendaya is not the only one with this high-heel superpower. Some Rihanna fans have also shared photos on social media of the star doing the same thing: effortlessly walking across a precarious city grate in spindly heels.

Although Rihanna didn’t respond to any tweets wondering how she, too, accomplished such a feat, Kim Kardashian West did recently respond to a fan asking about another shoe conundrum.

During last Sunday’s airing of a new episode of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” a fan asked Kardashian West how she managed to walk with a broken heel.

It appears in the photo that Kardashian West’s left heel is broken off the knee-high sandals, which she wore during her family’s trip to Costa Rica. Kardashian West responded that the heel had actually just moved to the side and wasn’t broken off.

It seems many celebrity shoe mysteries can be answered with a simple tweet.

Celeb Trend of the Summer: Suits With White Sneakers

$

White sneakers have become the “it” sneaker of the summer, paired with everything from head-to-toe white athleisurewear to little black dresses. And now celebrities are making formal suits more casual for day with the ubiquitous kicks.

Supermodel Kendall Jenner stepped out in New York in a Wolk Morais pinstriped suit, which she complemented with a fanny pack — another emerging must-have accessory — and Adidas Yeezy Powerphase Calabasas sneaker. As an Adidas brand ambassador, Jenner frequently sports the brand’s shoes, but the 21-year-old elevated her simple kicks by pairing them with the two-piece suit.

Rita Ora tried out the menswear-inspired look as well, wearing an oversized blue suit and dazzlingly white trainers by Reebok. The singer made her look more feminine with a multilayered necklace and chunky hoop earrings.

“Spider-Man: Homecoming” actress Zendaya also stepped out in a suit and sneakers yesterday, opting for a black pinstriped suit with roses pinned to the jacket while on the press jaunt for the new film. Similar to Jenner, Zendaya pulled her look together with a pair of Adidas kicks, although she opted for the popular Superstar style rather than the Yeezys Jenner selected.

Zendaya, suit

Zendaya exits the “Good Morning America” studio June 20 in a suit and sneakers.

Jenner’s best friend and fellow model, Gigi Hadid, also stepped out in the suit and sneaker trend recently, going for a more fitted rose-hued suit and a pair of sneakers from Reebok, the athletic wear brand for which she serves as ambassador.

Of course, just as the sneakers can go with pretty much anything, the suit look works just as well with a pair of heels, which Jenner’s big sister Kim Kardashian proved when she attended the Forbes Women Summit a week ago sporting heeled Yeezy sandals with a Jean Paul Gaultier pantsuit.

But the sneaker-and-suit look, while popular now, has been around for a while: Hadid was spotted in a striped suit with sneakers in July 2016. The main difference? The 22-year-old then wore Velcro white sneakers, a less athletic style when compared with the laceups donned recently.

Zendaya Jumps on Head-to-Toe Barbie Pink Trend

Maybe it’s the fact that Mattel recently announced the launch of a diverse line of Ken dolls to add to its Barbie “Fashionista” collection. Maybe the pink trend in shoes has slyly made its way into apparel as a key color for monochromatic dressing. Or maybe the onslaught of millennial pink over the last few seasons has finally transitioned into a new, richer hue more in line with shades of summer. Whatever can be credited for the wave of Barbie pink on the scene, Zendaya strikes again by being one of the first celebrities in on the trend.

Zendaya may be the star of “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” but she arrived to the L.A. film premiere in her own Barbie world. The starlet is no stranger to being pretty in pink, and this time around she upped the glam factor in a custom Ralph & Russo gown featuring hot-pink pleating and a thigh-high slit. A modish choker neckline that transcended into a long train gave the dress a contemporary aesthetic. And just like the doll herself, life-size Barbie Zendaya wore none other than the pink pump — with the actress wearing a design by Italian luxury footwear brand Casadei. And what Barbie girl is truly complete without a girl’s best friend — diamonds. Bulgari, that is, in Zendaya’s case.

Marisa Tomei is Giving ‘Spider-Man’ Character Aunt May a New Look — Even on the Red Carpet

Marisa Tomei made quite the style statement on the red carpet last night in Los Angeles for the premiere of “Spider-Man: Homecoming.” The newest Marvel flick has similarities to the classic superhero story, but there were some differences compared with its two live-action predecessors — and that starts with Aunt May.

The crucial character, guardian to Peter Parker, had always been portrayed as an older woman, and in this version, Tomei’s Aunt May is much younger. The “My Cousin Vinny” actress showed off her star power on the red carpet in L.A. on Wednesday night.

With co-star Zendaya nearby, it would have been understandable to get lost in her Ralph & Russo hot-pink dress, but Tomei made a striking appearance all on her own. Wearing a sheer-paneled thigh-split dress by Zuhair Murad, Tomei stunned in the pre-fall ’17 gown. The look displayed lots of leg and was detailed with printed patterned pleats featuring a plunging neckline and draped colored metallic fabric. She paired the dress with simple black sandals.

Other guests on the carpet included Jon Favreau, Jason Derulo, Robert Downey Jr., Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Karen Gillan and more.

“Spider-Man: Homecoming” hits theaters on July 7, and for those looking to match the web-slinger themselves, Charlotte Olympia has a collection just for you. The designer has teamed up with Marvel for a special capsule collection, launching July 5, for women and children featuring shoe styles inspired by Spidey.

The new norm is not to see if Zendaya is wearing something chic, it is simply to patiently wait for what the next slay will be. She has been on fire lately, being relentlessly snapped by the paparazzi at every event she attends and equally loving the cameras as she struts her stuff on the red carpet. In the last few weeks, Zendaya has leaned heavily into monochromatic attire, producing look after look of one-color outfits down to the designer shoes.

On June 14, the starlet wore a head-to-toe powder blue ensemble consisting of a silk Jonathan Simkhai slit dress paired with Rihanna x Manolo Blahnik pumps. The shoes, given to her by Rihanna herself, are so sacred to Zendaya that she waited a year before wearing the sequined style.

Two weeks later, on June 28, the actress did a complete 180 in color and splashed on all pink for the “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” premiere in LA. Her custom hot-pink Ralph & Russo gown and matching Casadei pumps transformed the 20-year old into a life-size Barbie.

Zendaya or Barbie?

Then, on July 3, Zendaya was spotted front row at Ralph & Russo Haute Couture fall ’17 at Paris Fashion Week. Her monochromatic color of choice this time? Neutral white in an elegant Ralph & Russo couture look with sleek white pumps.

Zendaya, on a consistent run of monochromatic looks, continues with all-white at Paris Fashion Week Haute Couture wearing ralph and russo

Which brings the actress’s run to July 5 , when she again went neutral. Her Viktor & Rolf sweatshirt featured a beige base but did offer a few other colors — browns in dark mahogany and caramel, and even shots of heathery gray and light pink — though her beige Christian Louboutin pumps reclaimed the overall monochrome point of view. According to Zendaya’s recap of the look, however, it was “just a sweatshirt really … casual.”

Zendaya’s Brand Embraces a Non-Gender Binary Philosophy: ‘Wear Whatever the Heck You Want’

Hollywood it-girl and rising fashion and footwear entrepreneur Zendaya was feted on Tuesday in L.A. at Variety’s Power of Young Hollywood ceremony, sponsored by H&M, where she was among a group of esteemed showbiz tastemakers, including John Boyega, Chloë Grace Moretz, and Adidas collaborator Rita Ora — who was honored with the Variety + H&M Conscious Award for her philanthropic work.

The 20-year-old actress debuted her Daya by Zendaya shoe line for spring ’16 with Titan Industries, the Huntington, Calif.-based footwear licensee, sold on dayabyzendaya.com. In 2016, Daya by Zendaya was recognized as the Launch of the Year at the 30th annual Footwear News Achievement Awards.

Her eponymous line also includes a collection of rompers, denim, skirts, dresses, loungewear and more apparel — some of the wares modeled by women, some by men. But don’t expect to see clothing labels designated by sex.

Speaking to FN on the influence she wields as a young entertainer and businesswoman, Zendaya said that she makes it a point to not list gender on her brand, and includes imagery of both sexes wearing her apparel to emphasize a message of inclusivity and freedom of expression.

“It’s all about the experience — when people go online and they are shopping I don’t want them to feel excluded or feel like they’ve been put in a box or a label,” the “Spider-Man: Homecoming” actress explained. “Why would I tell somebody that they can’t wear a shirt or dress just because of a label on a tag? Wear whatever the heck you want — wear what makes you feel good. I’m providing the clothing and you do what you want with it.”

Instagram Photo

To help with the differences in clothing sizing, the website lists a breakdown on how to convert measurements for body proportions.

The non-gender binary ethos even extends to shoes, and she added that she’s “absolutely” open to including unisex styles in her line. “I think that’s the future of fashion and retail — just letting people choose for themselves,” she said. “It’s a beautiful thing and I want to do what I can to be a part of it.”

At tonight’s Teen Choice Awards, female attendees stepped out dressed in a wide variety of clothing — but as far as footwear goes, sandals emerged as the hottest choice to tie together an ensemble.

Rita Ora stepped out in a hot pink cleavage-baring Alexandre Vauthier gown with a thigh-high slit, and the singer added another flirtatious element to her look with shiny silver sandals. Ora’s shoes perfectly matched her trendy hoop earrings and daring body chain for a sizzling red carpet outfit.

Other stars, such as Peyton List, who wore red Sophia Webster sandals with a slinky jumpsuit, donned sky-high heels with an already-sensual outfit, too.

But “Spiderman” star Zendaya stepped out in a statement-making Ashish pajama-inspired set, covered in sequins. While her red carpet attire had a menswear-inspired look, the star added a feminine element to her outfit with sparkly gold Le Silla stiletto sandals.

Vanessa Hudgens opted for an avant-garde Reem Acra look, which featured a high neckline and full-length trousers. But while the star didn’t show any skin with her outfit, her sky-high Giuseppe Zanotti sandals added a flirty element to an otherwise buttoned-up look.

The Teen Choice Awards also brought out one of the biggest sandals trends of today: see-through plastic stilettos. While Christian Louboutin’s Jonatina sandal — which has PVC detailing — has been a popular celebrity choice this summer, Renee Bargh went for a foot-flattering, leg-elongating pair of completely nude sandals that she paired with an über-short jumpsuit for max impact.

Zendaya took a cue from the men’s style guide when she hit the red carpet at the 2017 Teen Choice Awards.

The brand’s Crystals sandals from spring ’17 incorporate curvy strips that surround the instep. Design features include a laminate suede and crystal-embellished upper on a 4.7-inch stiletto heel. The shoes are available for $1,914 on lesilla.com.

Previously speaking to Footwear News at Variety’s Young Hollywood ceremony, she shared that her Daya by Zendaya lifestyle brand (which includes footwear and apparel) embraces a gender-neutral philosophy and she makes it a point to include images men and women wearing her label.

“Why would I tell somebody that they can’t wear a shirt or dress just because of a label on a tag?” she explained. “Wear whatever the heck you want — wear what makes you feel good. I’m providing the clothing and you do what you want with it.”

Taking to Instagram, Zendaya teased a new video featuring Bruno Mars, “Versace on the Floor.”

“When the flyest man out here calls you for one of the flyest songs out..you make it happen,” she wrote.

Bruno Mars’ seductive ballad “Versace on the Floor” just got an equally seductive music video — starring “Spiderman” actress and shoe designer Zendaya.

Zendaya sparkles in a custom Versace minidress — featuring heavy embellishment on the shoulders and a plunging neckline — which she pairs with sky-high gold pumps as she poses on her hotel bed, wearing her naturally curly locks pins-straight.

While Zendaya began her career as a Disney star, portraying Rocky Blue on “Shake It Up,” she shows a different side as Mars’ love interest here, stunning in a shiny thigh-skimming dress and skyscraper heels.

Mars wears a patterned black and gold shirt with cigarette pants in the video — but the most noteworthy part of his look comes from his custom Versace smoking slippers. While the singer often dons Nike Cortez on tour, his slippers put a stylish twist on typical hotel slippers in his video’s opening shot, which pans on the 31-year-old’s feet as he steps out of the hotel’s glamorous golden elevator.

In the video, which is currently trending No. 1 on YouTube, the two stars play strangers staying at the same hotel. While the pair never meet in the video — they are each depicted alone, in adjacent hotel rooms under hazy purple lighting — the video is laced with sexual tension, showing Zendaya sprawled out on her hotel bed while Mars belts out the tune, soulfully playing a piano.

How Selena Gomez, Rihanna & Other Celebs Made Barbie-Pink the ‘It’-Color

From hot pink minidresses to big bling to towering heels, Barbie’s fashion is iconic.

And celebrities are taking notice, wearing Barbie’s favored pink in all sorts of original ways.

Rihanna has always been a fan of pink — she frequently sports it for red carpet appearances — but the singer is putting a new spin on the shade. At the Paris premiere of her new film, “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets,” she stepped out in a heavily beaded, feathered Prada ensemble, accessorizing with pink shades and furry sandals for a vacation Barbie look.

Other celebrities have drawn inspiration from Barbie in different ways. Kesha wore a printed jumpsuit with a daisy necklace for a ’70s-inspired look at LAX airport, accessorizing with rhinestone-covered sunglasses, metallic shoes and a sequined headband. And Selena Gomez chose a pink jumpsuit, too, opting for a Miu Miu patterned one that she teamed with silver Gianvito Rossi sandals for the ultimate slumber party Barbie look while out in New York City.

But some have delved even further into Barbie territory. Gigi Hadid wore a Kreist jacket and pants that she paired with blush-colored Aquazzura platform sandals, while Zendaya selected Barbie’s dream eveningwear at a “Spiderman” premiere: a hot pink Ralph & Russo gown with matching Casadei pumps.

She leaned into the ’70s disco vibes of the Christian Siriano set with her hairstyle and jewelry, donning oversized Mateo earrings and a beehive-inspired updo. Zendaya herself acknowledged her outfit’s throwback nature, captioning an Instagrammed picture from the event by simply writing, “vintage.”

The 21-year-old is styled by Law Roach, an “America’s Next Top Model” judge who also styles Demi Lovato, Céline Dion and Ariana Grande.

This summer, Zendaya and Roach put together a series of stylish looks as she promoted her “Spider-Man” movie, starting with a blue silk dress and Rihanna x Manolo Blahnik pumps at the film’s Madrid photocall. Since then, Zendaya has put her own spin on the Barbie pink trend, elevated menswear pajamas and hopped on the oversized suit trend in style.

The stars aligned for the Erdem x H&M launch event in Los Angeles on Wednesday, stepping out in chic looks from the new collection and offering their own takes on how to best style the new wares.

Disney star Zendaya led the pack in a blue knit sweater and tea-length skirt, both by Erdem x H&M, which she paired with white pumps for a ’50s-inspired look. The 21-year-old, who has an eponymous shoe and apparel line, continued the vintage thread with her hair, opting for a voluminous half-up style, and accessorizing with dangly earrings, also from the collection, and a Bulgari ring.

After appearing in “Spider Man: Homecoming” this summer, Zendaya is moving away from her Disney roots and toward more adult material. She stars alongside Zac Efron in “The Greatest Showman,” which debuts Dec. 25.

Kirsten Dunst — who starred in an earlier iteration of “Spider-Man” in 2002 — also attended the event, sporting floral Erdem x H&M silky pajamas, which she paired with shiny black pumps.

Zendaya’s Secret to Black Friday Success: ‘Don’t Go’

With her Daya by Zendaya line of shoes, clothes and accessories stocked at department stores across the country, “Spider-Man: Homecoming” star Zendaya knows her way around the retail business.

But when it comes to getting goods on sale, the 21-year-old isn’t a big fan of Black Friday.

“I don’t go,” she told PeopleStyle. “I’m always afraid because it’s the busiest time to go. The best thing for me is wait until the online one comes out, and do everything online.

While brick-and-mortar stores dominate Black Friday sales, there are still opportunities to score discounted items that don’t require visiting stores in person. And with Cyber Monday just around the corner, there will be plenty of chances to pick up discounted wares without having to brave the crowds.

In addition to her Daya by Zendaya brand, the actress recently rolled out a capsule collection with Bloomingdale’s-only brand Aqua. The collaboration celebrates the release of her new film, “The Greatest Showman,” which premieres on Dec. 20. The collection features sheer-paneled dresses and star-patterned skirts, with all items reasonably priced below $200.

‘This Is Us’ Star Eris Baker Dishes on Shoes, Shopping and Slaying the Red Carpet

Part of the stellar kids’ cast on “This Is Us,” Eris Baker has already proven she’s got some serious acting chops. Now, the talented 12-year-old — who plays Tess Pearson on the hit NBC drama series — is showing off her killer fashion skills.

Since her TV debut last year, the California-born tween has been lighting up the red carpet with her spunky and sophisticated looks. A huge footwear fan, she likes to top off her outfits — and add a pop of personality — with a fun pair of statement shoes, from metallic creepers and patent-leather oxfords to embellished combat boots.

“I love shoes,” Baker told Footwear News. “Whenever I find a cool pair that very few people have, I’m on it.”

Here, the budding star opens up about her favorite brands, shopping haunts and celebrity role models.

My personal style: “It’s very eclectic. I’m inspired by so many things — people, design and textures, moods and feelings, music, art, history. My style is the result of everything I’ve seen, heard, learned and felt. I like to take tasteful risks and express myself through fashion.”

Footwear philosophy: “I love shoes for their look and for their uniqueness. I like shoes with sequins, patches, cute messages, bright colors and short, chunky heels — because I haven’t mastered this heel thing yet.”

Favorite brands: “I love the classics: Adidas, Converse, Dr. Martens, Timberland.”

Most comfortable pair: “I am born and raised in Southern California, so nothing beats a cute pair of flip-flops for longs days on the set.”

Style guidance: “For most of my red carpet looks, I team up with my stylist, Neishea Lemle. I love working with her because she gets me. She knows what I like, and she understands the trends and is always willing to push the limits with me. For everyday looks, my mom and I work together. My style sense actually comes from her. She has always encouraged me to use fashion as my first voice and express myself.”

Shopping haunts: “Some of my favorites at the moment are Zara, Nordstrom, H&M, vintage shops and small boutiques with those one-of-a-kind items.”

Most memorable red carpet look: “It’s hard to choose, but one that I really had fun with was the all-black look I wore to our Season 2 premiere party [in September]. I channeled the legendary Michael Jackson with a black sequined jacket, leather-ish pants and lace-up boots. Michael started his career at a young age like me, and I hope to one day be as inspiring to my generation as he was.”

On my wish list: “I’m hoping for my first pair of Yeezys. Kanye has a dope style. I love how he dares to be different.”

If I could raid my ‘This Is Us’ character Tess’ wardrobe, I’d take: “Everything! We have some incredibly talented people in wardrobe who know exactly what I like. I see stuff every day that I want to take home.”

Celebrity fashion idol:Zendaya, without question. She is #goals. She and her stylist kill it every single time.”

Co-star style envy: “Susan Kelechi Watson [who plays Beth Pearson] kills it on the carpet. From head to toe, she always looks great. She is always so classy, chic and fashion-forward. I love her.”

Hottest trends at school: “My friends are all pulling out their best fall booties right now. [Styles] with fur and different fall tones are flooding our campus. And the Chuck Taylors and Stan Smiths will never get old.”

Style inspiration: “Social media, magazines, red carpets, celeb spottings, school, art, look books, Fashion Weeks, window shopping, vintage stores, boutiques — I could go on and on.”

Best part of working on a hit show: “Being able to work with such amazing people. ‘This Is Us’ is one of my first TV experiences, and I am learning so much from the amazingly talented people around me.”

Zendaya is making a case for best dressed this week after stepping out in London last night in a look styled by “image architect” Law Roach.

The co-creator of the 21-year-old actress’ clothing line, Daya by Zendaya, pulled a fabulously sophisticated Olivia Pope-esque winter white jacket from Giuseppe di Morabito’s fall ’17 collection featuring a dramatic off-the-shoulder collar and a flared skirt for the evening. Kerry Washington’s “Scandal” heroine would be so proud.

A black belt cinched at the waist of her trench and Giuseppe Zanotti leather thigh-high boots, which elegantly disappeared under the “Spider-Man: Homecoming” actress’ coat, expertly pulled the ensemble together.
